Global Paris-Aligned Equity

The Global Paris-Aligned Equity strategy invests worldwide in high-quality, growing companies that we believe will achieve net-zero carbon emissions before 2050. Its benchmark is the MSCI All Country World Index.

Strategy Overview

We invest in high-quality, growing companies identified through our disciplined fundamental research process. Portfolio manager Scott Crawshaw, in consultation with the Co-Lead PMs, adapts the Global Equity model portfolio to construct the Global Paris-Aligned Equity model portfolio, which excludes companies that derive a significant portion of revenues from oil-, gas-, or coal-related activities as well as those companies in high-emission industries that have not demonstrated a viable pathway to carbon neutral status by 2050, consistent with the Paris Agreement.

The 2015 Paris Agreement aims to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius, preferably limited to 1.5 degrees, compared to pre-industrial levels. ‘Net zero’ is achieved when the amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced are cancelled out by those removed from the atmosphere.
